Dignity and Respect Policy

Enneagram Training is committed to providing a safe working environment for all of its employees and students.

In our workshops we ask participants to commit to the principles and behaviours listed below.  All our staff have also committed to upholding these principles:

Confidentiality

Enneagram work is challenging and joyful, and it can take us deep. People’s ability to take their own inner journey depends largely on knowing that what they say will not be shared inappropriately.

Confidentiality is defined as the respect of and not sharing externally, matters that are discussed in communications between participants and staff (ie in workshops, in emails and Zoom conversations).  The only exception is where there are revelations that may put the person making them or other people at risk.  In those circumstances we reserve the right to contact the appropriate agencies.

We commit to maintaining confidentiality, as defined above.

Respect

Respecting each person’s right to their truth and treating them accordingly is central to our work. Disrespect for type or other people, bullying and harassment have no place in our training events and relationships between participants, or between participants and staff.

Disrespect for type or other people includes stereotyping, judging particular types, making assumptions about people’s type, gossiping, discriminating, excluding or undermining.

Bullying is inappropriate behaviour, direct or indirect, whether verbal, physical or otherwise, which could reasonably be regarded as undermining the individual’s right to dignity.

Harassment is any act or conduct which is unwanted and unwelcome and which could reasonably be regarded as offensive, humiliating or intimidating.

  • Sexual harassment is unwanted and unwelcome conduct which could reasonably be regarded as sexually — or otherwise on the gender ground — offensive, humiliating or intimidating.
  • Racial harassment is unwanted or unwelcome conduct, based on a person’s race, colour or country of origin which is offensive to the recipient.

We commit to treating each other respectfully, as defined above.

COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

Please talk to staff immediately if you perceive any infringement of these principles above.

Any complaints which cannot be resolved within 24 hours will be referred to Enneagram Training’s Directors.  Failing that, recourse can be made to our parent company, The Narrative Enneagram, at www.narrativeenneagram.org.
